Beyond the Procedure 2.0

Join us in Virginia Beach on October 2–4, 2026 for Beyond the Procedure 2.0, an expanded symposium and social experience created specifically for the laryngectomy community.


This year’s program will feature a fresh, more interactive format designed to encourage conversation, connection, and hands-on learning. In addition to educational presentations from medical professionals, experienced laryngectomees, and industry leaders, attendees will participate in small group discussions, peer-led breakout sessions, and interactive workshops focused on real-life challenges and successes after surgery.


Topics will include communication options, swallowing and nutrition, emotional wellness, emergency preparedness, caregiving, social confidence, advocacy, and life beyond treatment. Attendees will also have opportunities to ask questions in a more personal setting, share experiences, exchange practical tips, and build meaningful connections with others who truly understand the journey.


Whether you are newly recovering, years post-surgery, a caregiver, family member, clinician, or healthcare professional, Beyond the Procedure 2.0 offers education, encouragement, and community in a welcoming and supportive environment.


The weekend will also include social gatherings, networking opportunities, vendor exhibits, and dedicated time to reconnect with old friends while meeting new members of the laryngectomy community.

The Head and Neck Cancer Alliance, in partnership with the American Head & Neck Society, invites all patients, survivors, and caregivers to attend our Fourth Annual Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship Symposium on Saturday, October 7th.  It is the first time we are offering the option of attending the Survivorship Symposium either in-person or virtually.
